Easter Fun

Setting: Downstairs
Time: 6:05 am Easter Morning

Alex: Mommy....? Mommy...!!!???
Tessa-Lynn: Grumble, mumble, gurgle, grunt, maamaah, maamaah!
Sara: Theyyyy're uuuuupppp...
Eric: Snort, cough...

And so began our Easter morning. Alex not-so patiently waited until we were all up and conscious before ascending the steps to Easter Morning.

Alex found the eggs before he found his basket - and the hunt was on! Tessa-Lynn was not sure what to make of all of this, but she *did* enjoy hitting two brightly colored plastic Easter eggs together over and over.

And the Easter grass - how Tessa-Lynn loved the Easter grass! How Eric squirmed every time a piece of that grass (shredded paper) escaped the basket, and made a beeline for the floor.

The Easter Bunny was smart - he put all the plastic empty eggs on the floor for Tessa to find, and Alex got to hunt for the eggs that were more than 2 feet off the ground. Eric was called in a few times to assist in the egg collection process due to his staggering height (in relation to a 1 and 4 year old).

Then it was over just as fast as it began. The candy was inspected, and approved by Alex. The plastic eggs passed quality control with Tessa-Lynn. Coffee was dispensed, and the making of breakfast began.

Once we consumed our waffles, potatoes, and bacon, Alex pulled out the "real" eggs, and we proceeded to peel all of them to make multi-colored egg salad.

Tessa loved holding on to her Easter basket, and walking all over the place. In the last few days, Tessa-Lynn has figured out how to stand up to walk on her own without using a couch, or something to pull herself up. She starts in the sitting position - then moves into the Yoga position, "downward facing dog". Then she walks her hands up to her feet, and slowly rolls her back up to the standing position - and last but not least, she smiles as big as her face will let her.

We are having dinner with my Mom and Bob here at the house. Eric is going to "permit" asparagus in the house (so nice of him!), and we will all enjoy a nice family evening together.

When we first set up our website, we had a folder for Alex and a folder for Tessa-Lynn. But as the kids get older, I think we'll have to combine them into just one folder per month - because separating two kids who are almost inseparable at home is nearly impossible!
