Wow, we had a great week! My dear friend Tracy flew up from California to spend last weekend with us. Alex informed me that Tracy was "his" friend that weekend, and that I could have her as my friend "next visit".
On Friday night, Alex suggested we eat dinner at his favorite pub (it has a play area). We then returned home to rest up for our next day's big adventure.
We went to the Cinco de Mayo festival at the waterfront, where Alex and Tracy rode some of the "kiddie rides". We also visited the Saturday Market, where she discovered Portland's true personality.
Tessa-Lynn taught Tracy the correct pronunciation of "Duht" - her favorite "word" of the moment, and Alex instructed Tracy in the "Ways of the Force" - Star Wars light saber style.
I got some one-on-one time with Tracy while combing the vast collection of books at Powells City of Books, and then we rode home on MAX, our public transit system.
The next day, we drove out to the Gorge to show off our amazing Columbia River, and awe-inspiring waterfalls. After eating lunch and taking all our "Kodak Moments", we took Tracy back to the airport, and waved good-bye.
We miss her already. Thank you for the visit dear friend, I hope to see you soon!
